the trip is about the trip

i am thinking continuously about the big trip. i am wondering which cities to choose, which connections to make and what kind of preparations. should it be a real trip or could it be a virtual trip. i do not know yet. i still like to make pictures of rivers and seas. i still like to stand at the waterside and dream about other watersides.

i like the wideness of the water but am not sure whether i would like to be on a boat. is the idea about water, about the world or is it about limits, about finding how far i can go, how far i can drive, how far i can walk, is that what i want to find out.

i am considering making pictures in the harbour of antwerpen but at the same time i consider doing so in zeebrugge another belgium harbour. antwerpen is an old harbour, zeebrugge a new big one with big ships. should i choose old harbours like sevilla or should i choose newer ones like bilbao. how many harbours per country should i visit.

more and more i am getting convinced that the trip is about the trip not about visiting harbours. i need the harbours as part of the trip, but the trip in itself is important. the whole project is about getting around the world like for example michael palin did.
