the last days i have been working on the extension of the content of the website. i selected another 11 projects for presentation. especially the older ones are important as they form the basis on which my present projects rest.
i started studying urban planning, got interested in building standards and procedures, moved to alternative energy and public particpation and slowly discovered the limitations of architecture and the way to go on.
for some time i wondered whether i would call my self an architect or an artist or a builder and nowadays i do not care anymore. i have a diploma that proved that i can swim 50 meters. i have a drivers license and am registered as an architect. that' s it. architecture nowadays could be much more fun, but who knows what is possible and what could be done if it is not done, if you cannot see it, when you can not feel it. i often wonder why architects have so little creativity and so little surprise you doing something creative or really special.
i enjoyed watching the films by wong kar wai. i liked his colors, his continiously attractive images and his choice of music. every evening i watch some of his films on dvd and enjoy the creativity and energy that his work generates. i even start to think of making films myself. the link between my work and filmmaking is close. i also work with people. i work with images these people generate and i also am a director. the difference however is that wong kar wai made film and i did not.
the thought however is challenging. especially with regards to the berlin project and the big trip which is have in mind. i am thinking about getting equipment, software and statrting to film. i know it is not easy but that makes it a challenge.
