the work goes on

last weeks have been busy, working on the fishermanproject, the new project, the bathroom and the big trip. work on the bathroom slowly proceeds very well. most of it i do myself, giving me time to look, think and correct.

building with plywood and screws is easy. but it is just as easy to take things apart and try again. finally when the shape of the bathroom space is ok, it is time to put the plasterboard on the plywood and close all the gaps. after long discussions with other architects and artists the decision was made to plaster the walls with a mixture of "fix and finish" and several kinds of artist' s paint: red, gold and mostly black.

it is fun to do as you can see how the space is transformed into something that starts looking like a bathroom. it is quite easy work, time consuming, dirty and it takes time, but at the same there is plenty of time to think about other projects: in that way the work on other projects continues as well.

work on the fisherman is almost done. it is time to get the names engraved in stainless steel. unfortunately not every name is avalailable and not every one wants to be mentioned. practically speaking there are then 600 names or even more. i find it very important that all those names are mentioned and that everyone can see that he or she worked on the fisherman. but what to do in a case like this were that is not possible?

work on the tulips continues as usual, sometimes in an easy way, sometimes in a not so easy way. it is hard and time consuming work to find out which way is the right one. years ago i spent quite some time in the austrian alps, walking there and discovering that things were not always as easy as they looked. you just had to get on when you wanted to get somewhere and continue in a steady way, not too fast, not too slow.

just by going on and on and on the journey could go on. with projects like the fisherman and the tulips and many others it is the same trick.
