2007-08-06: patience

the work on the projects started full speed again, sending emails, making phonecalls, meeting people and working on new brochures.the projects are differen, the work is the same. this time there is nothing new about the projects, no new ideas, no new input, just the same old story. that makes it a little boring but at the same time it offers many chances to fine tune the way i am working, to use experiences from earlier projects and to concentrate more on the work itself.

most of all it is important to remain patient. it is not a matter of getting many things done, it is just a matter of getting things done, maybe even only only one or two a week. all my projects consist of endless series of decision moments in similar to a stairces that allows you only to proceed to the next step once you have finished the step before. it took some time to learn to remain patient nd not hurry up. it is no use to work to fast, everything takes time and needs that time and for everything there is a right moment and a wrong moment. too early is not good, too late is not good either.

patience and continuously thinking what to do and when are basic issues. quite often a day is spend waiting, thinking and meditating, sometimes half asleep, sometimes halfawake to allow an idea to present itself and reach a conclusion and i just have to accept that my work is unlike that of  bricklayer who has to do so many bricks a day or a truck driver who has to make so many kilometers everyday. i have to get things done, even if that might take me a whole week of waiting, thinking and meditating.
