In 1991, I was invited to participate in the “Indesem” workshop. The idea was to inform students about the experimental architectural work in our office.
Instead of a lecture, i preferred students to participate in the construction of an installation of 5 interlocked spaces, roughly comparable to a 5 room appartment.
There were however no walls, no utilities and no installations, only symbolic “rooms”. 5 dancers, body-painted in the same colours, would perform in these spaces.
The installation was built by myself in co-operation with Sandra de Ley, Scindia Gomesh, Paul, Minna Räty, Tom Rubingh, Marius Voogt and Ed van de Wetering, the Department of Architecture of the Technical University, Delft, the Netherlands, the ”Indesem” Organisation and Sigma Nederland BV.
The choreography was by Braechin Flournoy. Dance by Braechin Flournoy, Kora Greene, Ellen Johannesen, Carolien Poppink and Kai Casper Walaschewski. Photography by Martien Kerkhof and José M. Rodrigues.
The “Indesem” workshop was organised by students from the Department of Architecture of the Technical University, Delft, the Netherlands and took place in 1991.
